Get Involved

The Historic Shoals River District is built on community involvement and shared passion for Shoals.  Our work is made possible by dedicated volunteers who contribute their time, ideas, and energy to help strengthen and revitalize our community.

Whether you’re interested in beautification, events, or supporting local businesses, there are many ways to get involved and make a meaningful impact.

Committee Meetings

Our committee meets regularly to plan, collaborate, and support ongoing efforts throughout the community.  Meetings are open to anyone interested in getting involved and learning more about our work.

Design Team

  • Promotes and preserves the historic character of downtown Shoals

  • Supports the transformation of downtown through thoughtful design, including physical improvements and visual enhancements

  • Identifies creative and aesthetic opportunities to revitalize the area

  • Assists in developing ideas and concepts for future projects and initiatives

Promotion Team

  • Plans and organizes events that bring the community together and highlight local businesses

  • Showcases Shoals’ unique character and attractions

  • Markets and promotes downtown as a vibrant hub for community activity and economic growth

Organization Team

  • Leads fundraising efforts and sponsorship initiatives

  • Builds a strong foundation to support ongoing revitalization efforts

  • Develops partnerships, resources, and volunteer engagement within the district

Economic Vitality Team

  • Supports business growth through capital, incentives, and financial tools

  • Helps attract new businesses and strengthen existing ones in Shoals

  • Identifies opportunities for development, grants, and long-term sustainability

  • Encourages a supportive environment for entrepreneurs and small businesses

Get Involved

We welcome anyone who is interested in getting involved, whether by joining a committee, volunteering their time, or simply supporting our efforts.  Community participation is at the heart of what we do, and every contribution helps make a difference.

We also encourage local business owners to take part in our initiatives, events, and programs as we continue working together to strengthen and grow Shoals.
